A historical building gets a new coat of paint

Art & Design Center, formerly known as Lafayette Cinema, is in the heart of Xintiandi and a stone's throw from the main Shanghai Fashion Week tents.  This Art Deco-inspired building from the 1930's was designed by Hungarian-Slovak architect, Laszlo Hudec, responsible for many iconic buildings in Shanghai during that period. Now lovingly restored from its original use as a cinema, this venue gives us a comfortable open layout, complete with a bar and a rooftop terrace.
